1 toolI built these tools because I needed them. We use them every day at Wrise — for client work, for our own content, for the small repetitive bits that take up disproportionate amounts of time.
Most of the equivalent tools online are either paywalled, sign-up-walled, ad-stuffed, or American by default (which matters more than people realise when you’re writing for a UK audience). The Wrise tools are free, free of accounts, free of ads, and built UK-first. No catch.
If you find one useful, share it. If something’s broken or missing, tell me and I’ll fix it.
Rob, Wrise
Why these tools exist
Wrise is an SEO and content agency, so most of what we do involves writing, editing, optimising, and the occasional bit of design work. Over the years we’ve built up a set of small utilities to handle the bits that come up over and over: checking how a meta description will display, converting a title to the right case, checking readability before publishing, picking colours for a brand refresh.
None of these are revolutionary. They’re just clean, fast versions of the things we needed. Built without the bloat that most online tools come with: no email gates, no upgrade prompts, no popups, no ads. They run in your browser, they don’t track you, and they don’t cost anything.
Free, properly
No sign-up, no email collection, no usage limits, no “upgrade for more features” nonsense. The tools work the same whether you visit once or a thousand times.
UK English by default
Spellings, grammar conventions, style guides, and quirks like hyphenated compounds all default to British conventions. Most equivalent tools are American.
Built for actual work
These are the tools we use ourselves on real client projects. They handle the edge cases and the awkward inputs that prettier-looking tools tend to break on.
No data collected
Your text never leaves your browser. The tools run client-side, which means anything you paste in stays on your machine. Useful when you’re editing client work.
Frequently asked questions
Are these tools really free?
Yes. Genuinely free. No sign-up, no email gate, no character limits, no usage caps. Use them as much as you like for as long as you like. There’s no premium tier, no upsell, and we don’t plan to add one.
Do you collect or store the text I paste in?
No. Every tool runs entirely in your browser. The text you paste never gets sent to our servers. We don’t track what you use the tools for. The only data the site collects is standard analytics on which pages people visit, which helps us know what to build next.
Why are most other tools American by default?
Most online tools are built by US developers for a US audience, so they default to American conventions: AP style for title case, US spellings for readability checks, US-formatted dates, dollar pricing, and so on. That’s fine if you’re writing for a US audience, but it adds friction if you’re writing for the UK. Our tools default to UK conventions and offer US options where relevant.
Can I suggest a new tool?
Yes, please do. Get in touch and tell us what you’d find useful. We build new tools based on what people ask for and what we end up reaching for ourselves on client work. If something keeps coming up, it earns a place in the toolkit.
Can I embed these tools on my own site?
Not currently. The tools are designed to live on the Wrise site. If you’ve got a specific use case in mind, get in touch and we can talk about it.
Something’s broken. How do I report it?
Drop us a message via the contact page with the tool name and what went wrong. Screenshots help. We’ll usually fix it within a day or two.
Need more than the free tools?
Wrise is a UK SEO and content agency. We do the strategy, content, technical work, and ongoing optimisation that the free tools can’t. If you’re a small business and want to talk, we’re here.
